2025 GMC Yukon AT4 Ultimate Front ViewThe GMC Yukon and its Yukon XL sibling received significant updates for the 2025 model year. The updates include revised styling, new safety and convenience technologies, and even a new off-road-focused trim level. Sharp Automotive Group shares the exciting new details of GMC’s flagship SUVs.

The most obvious change is the new front-end styling. The GMC grille gets sharper edges and corners, while LED daytime running lights act as brackets for the entire Yukon face. Three almost hidden LED headlight elements are tucked within those brackets on each side. It has a high-tech look that clearly separates the 2025 models from its predecessors.

Speaking of high-tech, the models offer much more of it. This is most evident in the available 16.8-inch infotainment touchscreen, which is the centerpiece of an all-new, redesigned dashboard. The screen has a portrait format and, with that much space, provides plenty of room for multiple apps simultaneously, such as music and navigation information. Detailed information in the sub-menus can also be read easily. Rear passengers get their own tech upgrade: an 8-inch touchscreen behind the center console to manage their separate climate control system.

A significant new safety technology is the available Night Vision system. Sensors can get a thermal reading of objects in front of the vehicle, helping to identify pedestrians and animals. The images are then brightened through the head-up display and driver information center.

GMC has increased the ability of its GMC Pro Safety system. In addition to existing technologies such as:

  • Automatic Emergency Braking
  • Following Distance Indicator
  • Forward Collision Alert
  • Front Pedestrian Braking
  • IntelliBeam
  • Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning

…GMC has now added:

  • Front Pedestrian and Bicyclist Braking
  • Rear Cross Traffic Braking
  • Side Bicyclist Alert
  • Intersection Automatic Emergency Braking

While the industry-leading SuperCruise system is not new, it is expected to be applied to 750,000 pre-mapped highways and roads by the end of the 2025 calendar year.

Well aware of how much both vehicles of the Yukon family are used for towing, in addition to an available 8,400 lb. towing capacity, GMC offers the following new towing capacities:

  • Blind Zone Steering Assist – Designed to alert drivers and provide a brief, firm turn of the steering wheel when a potential crash is detected with a moving vehicle in a side blind zone extended to trailer lengths.
  • Transparent Trailer View – This feature uses a tailgate-mounted camera and a customer-installed auxiliary camera applied to the rear of a compatible trailer to virtually see through the trailer and view objects or vehicles behind it.
  • Trailer Reverse Trajectory – Adds dynamic rearward guidelines to the Transparent Trailer View to track the trailer’s direction when backing up.
  • Trailer Tire Health – This enhances the trailer tire pressure monitoring system by adding leak detection, tire life monitoring, and an over-speed warning.
  • Jackknife Alert – This system tracks the position of the compatible trailer in relation to the vehicle to notify the driver if they are facing a potential jackknife situation.
