2026 Chevrolet and GMC HD Lineup

The 2026 Chevrolet Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD lineup of trucks are among the most capable and usable vehicles on the market today. While it’s easy to see them as giant trucks, they are now, more than ever, perfect for people who have a family and need a vehicle for professional use, too.

The Base Engine and Towing Capacities
Both trucks are available with two V8 engines, each mated to an Allison 10-speed automatic transmission. The standard engine is a 6.6-liter gas engine that produces 401 horsepower and 464 lb-ft of torque, which is a very healthy amount that allows the Chevy Silverado 2500HD and GMC Sierra 2500HD to tow up to 14,500 lbs conventionally, or 19,080 lbs in fifth-wheel configuration. 3500HD models equipped with the gas motor can tow up to 18,800 lbs from the rear bumper and 19,150 lbs with a fifth wheel.

The Optional Motor and Towing Capacities
The optional motor that can be chosen for both the Chevy and GMC is the venerable 6.6-liter Duramax turbo-diesel, which supplies these trucks with 470 horsepower and an earth-shattering 975 lb-ft of torque. Thanks to that strong torque and durable Allison transmission, the 2500HD trucks can tow up to 20,000 lbs from the bumper and 22,390 lbs when using a fifth wheel. Even more incredible, the 3500HD models can tow up to 36,000 lbs when using a fifth wheel or 20,000 lbs when towing conventionally.

The Silverado HD Offers Great Tech Features
Chevrolet offers the Silverado HD with an available 13.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with an optional 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster display. Buyers can also check the box for a 15-inch multicolor head-up display (HUD). Chevy offers the Silverado HD with eight cameras that have up to 14 different viewing angles. With towing features like Hitch View, Bed View, Transparent Trailer View, and more, drivers can see everything that’s going on around the truck, especially when you’re backing up to a trailer or driving down the road.

GMC Also Brings Great Tech to the Sierra HD
Like the Chevy, GMC gives the Sierra HD a 13.4-inch infotainment screen with a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster. The GMC also features a 15-inch multicolor head-up display (HUD). Also like the Silverado, the Sierra has eight cameras with the same 14 different ways to view what’s going on around and behind the truck.
2026 Chevrolet Silverado HD Pricing and Trim Levels
Chevrolet prices the Silverado HD line of trucks from $48,195 and is available in Regular, Double, and Crew Cab configurations with either standard or long beds. Trim levels include WT, Custom, LT, LTZ, the off-road-ready ZR2, and the ultra-luxurious High Country.

2026 GMC Sierra HD Pricing and Trim Levels
The GMC Sierra HD is priced from $49,295 and is also available in Regular, Double, and Crew Cab varieties, and with a standard or long bed. GMC allows buyers to configure the Sierra HD in Pro, SLE, SLT, AT4, as well as the high-end luxury Denali and Denali Ultimate trim levels.

A Unique Tailgate Like No Other
One of the features that sets the Sierra HD and Silverado HD apart from the competition is their respective unique tailgates. The GMC MultiPro and Chevy Multi-Flex tailgates offer multiple ways to load items into the bed and get them out more easily. In a specific position, the tailgate can also be used as a seat, a step into the bed, and can feature optional speakers, so you can use your phone or tablet via Bluetooth to stream music.

GMC Pro Safety
The GMC Sierra HD offers great standard safety features on all trim levels through GMC Pro Safety, which includes Forward Collision Alert, Lane Departure Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, Buckle to Drive, Following Distance Indicator, Front Pedestrian Braking, and IntelliBeam auto high-beam headlights.

Chevrolet Safety Assist
Like the GMC, the Silverado HD also comes standard with some of the best safety features via Chevy Safety Assist, such as Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Alert, Following Distance Indicator, Front Pedestrian Braking, and IntelliBeam.
