A 2025 Toyota Sienna Became the One Millionth Hybrid Produced in the U.S.A.

Toyota reached a milestone recently by producing its one millionth hybrid vehicle in this country. The 2025 Sienna Platinum in Wind Chill Pearl marked the occasion as it rolled off the Princeton, Indiana assembly line. This was the result of the great work of its 7,650 employees who built this and many other Siennas over two decades. 

The significance of this milestone is important for many reasons. The Sienna was first developed as a minivan for the U.S. market when it debuted in 1997. It met specific needs for families that loved to travel together. It has been in production at the Princeton plant since 2003.  

Another reason is the fact that the Sienna is the only minivan sold with a hybrid driveline as standard in this country. Since the 2021 model year, every Sienna has been powered by the combination of an internal combustion engine with two-to-three electric motors, along with a choice of front- or all-wheel drive.  

The result is an efficient package offering many amenities—some not found on other minivans. For example, some features on the Platinum model include the FridgeBox, an on-board vacuum cleaner, and second-row captain’s chairs with a deployable ottoman.  

Better still, you can achieve up to an EPA-rated combined 36 mpg. This leads the minivan class among hybrid and internal combustion drivelines. This also means that you can go the distance on a single tank of fuel—more than enough to cross the state of South Dakota into Montana or Wyoming.  

For those long road trips, you have comfortable seating for up to seven or eight people to go along with those features. There are more cupholders found in the 2025 Sienna to place drinks—up to 18 to be exact. Some models can be equipped with a 1080p HD Entertainment system for the second- and third-row passengers, including an 11.6-inch screen that drops down from the ceiling, a remote control, and two pairs of wireless headphones.
