Toyota Camry Is Still The Sensible Choice

When it comes to the world of cars, there are very few like the Toyota Camry. Since its introduction to the American market in 1983, the Camry has been the best-selling passenger car that isn’t a truck or SUV for 23 straight years. While the family sedan has evolved dramatically since its early days, its core principles of reliable, safe, efficient, and reasonably priced transportation have never wavered.

The Best-Selling Car by A Country Mile
While most carmakers are trying to figure out how to make more crossovers and SUVs, Toyota has stuck by the Camry, knowing what it means to customers. With 309,876 models sold in 2024, outselling its main rival, the Honda Accord, by nearly 150,000 cars, customers obviously love what the car offers them and love buying it.

An All-New Model Calls for an All-New Engine
The all-new 2025 Camry is powered by one motor, a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder hybrid engine with the company’s latest Toyota Hybrid System in its fifth generation (THS 5). This makes this the first-ever sedan to offer the latest hybrid engine. The car starts from $29,795, and with the standard front-wheel drive, the Camry puts out 225 combined horsepower, with optional all-wheel drive models delivering a total of 232 horsepower. This is the first time a hybrid Camry has been offered with Electronic On-Demand All-Wheel Drive. Buyers can choose from four different trim levels: LE, SE, XLE, and XSE. All models can be equipped with AWD.

A Review by Road & Track
Road & Track magazine recently had the pleasure of taking a spin in the latest Camry and said, “There is a reason that the Toyota Camry is one of the few remaining stalwarts of the sedan segment. This latest version builds on the recipe proven by its predecessors, with improved efficiency and style. There are more dynamic offerings out there, but you would struggle to find a commuter with such a broad skillset—and it is hard to argue against the impressive efficiency of the new hybrid powertrain.”
EPA Estimated Fuel Economy
The EPA estimates that the base LE model will achieve 53 mpg in the city and 50 mpg on the highway, while SE, XLE, and XSE models will get up to 48 mpg city and 47 mpg highway.

Standard Technology
Toyota worked hard to give customers a quality interior experience, and they didn’t fail, with LE and SE models having a 7-inch digital gauge cluster and an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen. XLE and XSE models receive a 12.3-inch cluster and equal sized infotainment screen, plus an available 10-inch Head-Up Display (HUD) that ensures drivers never have to take their eyes off the road to see their speed, directions, music, and other pertinent information. The Toyota Audio Multimedia System is standard in all cars. It features wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto so you can leave your phone in the handy Qi (pronounced as chee) wireless charging pad. There is a mix of USB-A and USB-C ports throughout the vehicle, with three for the driver and front passenger and two for the rear passengers.

Standard Toyota Safety Sense 3.0
Every 2025 Camry also comes standard with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, the company’s latest impressive suite of safety features that includes Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Proactive Driving Assist, Automatic High Beams, Lane Tracing Assist, and Road Sign Assist. Stepping up to the XLE and XSE trim levels offers Traffic Jam Assist, Lane Change Assist, Panoramic View Monitor, Front-Cross Traffic Alert, and Front and Rear Parking Assist with Automatic Braking.
