Pricing, Power, and Fuel Economy

With a starting price of $59,100, the Land Cruiser 1958 comes standard with full-time four-wheel drive and a 2.4-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder i-FORCE MAX Hybrid engine that produces 326 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque. With a smooth, intelligent 8-speed automatic transmission, the Land Cruiser achieves 22 mpg in the city and 25 on the highway, which bests the fuel efficiency of its main competitors, the Ford Bronco (20/22) and Honda Passport TrailSport (18/23).

The Best Towing Capacity

Another area where the Land Cruiser trumps its competitors from Ford and Honda is in towing capacity. When properly equipped, the Land Cruiser 1958 can tow up to 6,000 lbs., which is 1,000 lbs. more than the Honda and 1,500 lbs. more than the Ford.

Cargo Space to the Max

When Toyota engineered this latest Land Cruiser, the company made sure to give owners plenty of cargo space and interior volume to accommodate both passengers and cargo. Behind the rear seats is 37.5 cubic feet of space, which expands to 46.2 cu.ft. when the rear seats are folded down. According to TopSpeed, the Land Cruiser can handle 17 suitcases with the rear seats in place and 31 when they’re lowered. What’s unique about the Land Cruiser is that the rear seats can be folded flat, and they can also be flipped up to offer separation between the cargo area and the front passengers if you’re carrying wood, metal, trash, or other supplies that you don’t want to slide or move forward in the cabin.

Standard Technology

Standard tech features on the 1958 include a 7-inch digital instrument cluster display, an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen display (the 12.3-inch Toyota Audio Multimedia is optional), heated front seats, six USB-C ports, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus a 120V AC power outlet and a 2400-watt AC inverter.
