​​What Does Kelley Blue Book Think of the 2026 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali Ultimate?​ 

Remember when GMC introduced the Sierra 1500 Denali about 25 years ago? It made a bold statement by adding luxury to a “professional grade” half-ton pickup truck. Today, the sky’s the limit when it comes to pickup truck luxury, with the Denali Ultimate grade available on the 2026 Sierra 1500.  

Every 2026 Sierra 1500 starts with the basics. Your choice of cabs and bed sizes, mounted on a strong, fully boxed high-strength steel frame. You also have a choice of engines from the TurboMax turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 430 pound-feet of torque to the Duramax in-line six-cylinder turbocharged diesel with a massive 495 pound-feet of torque. If that is not enough, there are eight grades to choose from.  

At the top of the class is the Denali Ultimate – the grandest expression of GMC’s premium blend of pickup truck utility combined with the finest luxury appointments. Outside, it wears a distinctive Vader Chrome grille and darker chrome badging. A set of seven-spoke Ultra Bright 22-inch machined aluminum wheels is smartly finished with chrome accents.  

Inside, you are treated to an Alpine Umber interior with full-grain leather seating surfaces. The driver can adjust their seat in 16 ways. They also receive heated, ventilated, and massage functions to enhance their experience behind the wheel. There are also 40 inches of driver-focused digital displays to view and interact with. The center touchscreen display has Google Built-in, with apps and functions accessible through Google Assistant’s natural voice commands. Sound is piped through a 12-speaker Bose Premium Series audio system with Centerpoint surround sound.  

Because it is a very luxurious pickup truck does not mean it skimps on capability, far from it. The 2026 Sierra 1500 Denali Ultimate comes standard with a 6.2-liter V8 with 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. A 10-speed automatic transmission sends power to all four wheels with its standard two-speed transfer case and selectable traction modes.  

You can also choose the Duramax turbocharged diesel engine to power your 2026 Sierra 1600 Denali Ultimate. Either engine enables you to tow up to 9,600 pounds. Adaptive Ride Control provides a supple and smooth ride no matter what road you’re on – and what’s behind you.  

Making the job of driving this 2026 Sierra 1600 Denali Ultimate easier is the standard Super Cruise hands-free driver assistance technology. This also comes with a three-year OnStar One plan to enable its services.  

Recently, Kelley Blue Book took a 2026 Sierra 1500 Denai Ultimate for a test drive. They concluded that “if you value presence, power, and a cabin that looks and feels truly premium, the Sierra makes a strong case for itself.”
