Yukon AT4 Ultimate: Luxury Off-Roader

The 2025 GMC Yukon has been refreshed and given a new design, more technology, and extra safety features without compromising what made the full-size SUV one of the best vehicles for families who need space, utility, and luxury.  

A Review by Motor Authority 

In a recent review by Motor Authority, writer Andrew Ganz tested the brand new 2025 Yukon AT4 Ultimate and found himself asking whether it was a ready-to-roll off-roader or a Range Rover competitor, to which he said, “After driving the revamped Yukon for a week, I learned that it can be both.” 

Trim Levels and Engines 

For 2025 buyers can choose between five different trim levels: Elevation, AT4, Denali, AT4 Ultimate, and Denali Ultimate. Elevation and AT4 trims can be optioned with either a 5.3-liter V8 or a 3.0-liter Duramax turbo diesel. The V8 offers 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque, while the Duramax puts out 305 horsepower and 495 lb-ft of torque. The AT4, Denali, AT4 Ultimate, and Denali Ultimate can also get the 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque 6.2-liter V8 under the hood. All engines get a standard 10-speed automatic transmission.  

Base Price 

The base Elevation model starts from $69,395, with the top-of-the-line Denali Ultimate running $102,495 and giving the Cadillac Escalade a proper run for its money.  

AT4 Ultimate Unique Features 

GMC gave the AT4 Ultimate special 20-inch machined wheels painted in Talos Bronze and wrapped in all-terrain tires, a front skid plate, and four-corner Air Ride Adaptive Suspension that will raise the Yukon up two extra inches for even more off-road ground clearance. The interior comes standard with full-grain leather seating surfaces in Obsidian Rush and red accents and Ash Burl wood trim. 

New Safety Technologies  

All 2025 Yukon trim levels receive new standard safety features that include Front Pedestrian and Bicyclist Braking, Side Bicyclist Alert, Intersection Automotive Emergency Braking, and Rear Cross Traffic Braking. They can be optioned with Night Vision to give drivers better visibility in poorly lit conditions. Thermal object detection can detect people and animals, giving warnings via the head-up display.  

Exclusive Towing Features 

When it comes to towing, the 2025 Yukon has a capacity of up to 8,400 pounds when properly equipped. When optioned with extra trailering tech, the Yukon gets Trailer Reverse Trajectory, Transparent Trailer View, Trailer Tire Health, Jackknife Alert, and Blind Zone Steering Assist. When coupled with Super Cruise, the Yukon will let you go hands-free when towing on the highway.  

Super Cruise 

Super Cruise is hands-down the most advanced driver assistance technology. It can be used on up to 750,000 miles of roads between the United States and Canada by the end of this year. Andrew Ganz was able to test Super Cruise and said, “The system activates with a few bings and bongs, and then it does a very good job keeping the Yukon centered in its lane and away from traffic while the driver’s hands rest away from the steering wheel and eyes stay on the road. I was particularly surprised to see that Super Cruise worked just fine even accounting for the Goodyear Wrangler Territory AT tires’ knobby tread pattern. The system seems to be capable of accounting for the inevitable wander from knobby tires.”
