2025 Chevrolet Traverse High Country AWD Is Fit For Your Family

Chevrolet has taken the all-new Traverse up a notch with the latest High Country trim that gives owners a Cadillac-like SUV without having to pay Cadillac money. Starting from just $42,195, the Traverse has families in mind with its bargain pricing and loads of features, as MotorTrend recently found out in their review of the Traverse High Country.

A Brand New Engine
With its newest all-new design for 2024, the Chevrolet SUV also received a new, more powerful engine under the hood. Instead of the old 3.6-liter V6, a turbocharged 2.5-liter inline-4 takes over. The new turbo-4 produces 328 horsepower and 326 lb-ft of torque, a healthy increase of 17 horsepower and 60 lb-ft of torque compared to the previous generation.

More Efficient Than Ever Before
The Traverse is also more fuel efficient, with engineers having developed new tech to regulate the camshaft and either advance or delay the motor’s spark, depending on whether the engine needs more power and torque or needs to increase fuel economy. This breakthrough feature is called “ePhaser.” Because of ePhaser, the front-wheel drive Traverse can achieve 20 mpg city and 27 mpg highway, while all-wheel drive trims will get 19 city and 24 highway.
Handling That You Wouldn’t Expect
MotorTrend seemed quite surprised that a three-row crossover SUV could corner in a way that’s not typical of an SUV, saying, “No one buys a Traverse to carve through the twisties, but maybe they should. The Traverse’s steering, brakes, body control, and handling are all better than they need to be for a family hauler. The ride quality is also excellent considering the High Country sits on 22-inch wheels with low-profile tires …”

Almost As Large as A Tahoe
One of the most important factors outside of price is size. Growing families need a large interior to handle kids, pets, luggage, groceries, strollers, car seats, and the like. The Traverse is not only freshly redesigned but is also wider, taller, and longer. This means that owners will have 22.9 cubic feet behind the third row, just 2.6 shy of the larger, full-size Chevy Tahoe. Folding the last row down will give you 56.6 cu.ft. and 97.6 cu.ft. with all seats folded.

Rear Passengers Will Be Plenty Happy
Speaking of size, rear passengers will surely enjoy the numerous ways to charge their devices, with USB-C ports for both the second and third row occupants, plus a 120-volt outlet in the second row. Chevrolet made it extra easy for kids and adults to climb into the third row with simple one-touch tilt and slide rear seats. MotorTrend said of the third row, “That mechanical ballet opens a wide passage for clambering into the third row, where the width and height of the Traverse once again pay off. The third-row seat cushion sits nice and high relative to the floor, providing a natural seating position even for adults. Outboard passengers get a cupholder and USB-C port plus an overhead climate vent …”
The World Class Super Cruise is Standard
Standard on the 2025 Traverse High Country is one of General Motors’ greatest technologies over the past few years: Super Cruise hands-free driving technology. It transforms a vehicle on long drives, especially when the whole family is in the car. It’s a safe and convenient way to relax on trips and enjoy a nice conversation or phone chat while the Traverse handles the highway driving.

One of The Safest Vehicles Money Can Buy
The 2025 Chevrolet Traverse was awarded the honor of being a Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, making it one of the safest vehicles you can purchase. The Traverse comes standard with Chevy Safety Assist and features Automatic Emergency Braking, Following Distance Indicator, Forward Collision Alert, Front Pedestrian Braking, IntelliBeam High Beam Assist, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Rear Park Assist, Safety Alert Seat, Rear Cross Traffic Braking, Rear Pedestrian Alert, Reverse Automatic Braking, Blind Zone Steering Assist, Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert, Intersection Automatic Emergency Braking, Traffic Sign Recognition, HD Rear Vision Camera, HD Surround Vision, Adaptive Cruise Control, Speed Limit Assist, Side Bicyclist Alert, and more.
