​​MotorTrend Names Super Cruise Best Hands-Free Tech​

The future is quickly becoming hands-free. For many years it was a big deal that you could use Bluetooth inside your car to provide a quality connection that allowed you to talk, keep your hands on the wheel, and still pay attention to the road. Now, technology in Chevrolet and GMC vehicles has advanced well beyond Bluetooth, allowing drivers to take their hands off the steering wheel and let the vehicle take over normal driving duties.

In its annual Best Tech awards for 2025, MotorTrend magazine declared Super Cruise, the already legendary advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS), as the absolute best and safest in the industry, saying, “We trust Super Cruise.”  

Compatible Models 

Originally called GM Super Cruise but now just Super Cruise, it’s available on multiple Chevrolet and GMC models. Chevrolet models that can get the driver-assistance tech are the Equinox EV, Blazer EV, Silverado and Silverado EV, plus the Traverse, Tahoe, and Suburban. The GMC models that can be optioned with the technology are the Sierra EV, Sierra, Yukon, Hummer EV, and Acadia. General Motors says that by the end of 2025, there will be 750,000 miles of Super Cruise-compatible mapped roads between the United States and Canada. If you decide to pay for Super Cruise, it will only cost you $25 per month or $250 for the year.

However, Super Cruise takes it one step further by returning drivers to their original lanes. MotorTrend highlighted this by saying, “It’s not easy to take your hands off the wheel when you’re hauling a rolling house behind your pickup truck. We’ve done it and are pleased to see Super Cruise apply the same careful methodology to towing as we do.”
